The cost of the product the LDB pays to suppliers depends on the type of product and applicable taxes. The LDB pays the duty paid cost of products (plus GST) to BC manufacturers on their sales to the LDB for distribution to BC Liquor Stores or Wholesale Customer Centre unless the excise tax can be deferred until final sales from the LDB excise warehouse. Please see below information.
Breweries and Brewpubs
- Duty paid on the cost of products (plus GST) on sales to the LDB for distribution to BC Liquor Stores or wholesale customer centre.
- Various adjustments to supplier payments (e.g., bottle deposit, recycling fee, delivery cost, charges back on defective product, etc.)
Commercial Distilleries
- Inbond cost of products (plus GST) on sales to the LDB for distribution to BC Liquor Stores or wholesale customer centre.
- Various adjustments to supplier payments (e.g., bottle deposit, recycling fee, delivery cost, charges back on defective product, etc.)
Commercial Wineries
- Duty paid on the cost of products (plus GST) on sales to the LDB for distribution to BC Liquor Stores or wholesale customer centre.
- Various adjustments to supplier payments (e.g., bottle deposit, recycling fee, delivery cost, charges back on defective product, etc.).
- VQA rebate for BC VQA wines delivered to the LDB.
Payment terms
Sales to the LDB by Purchase Orders and delivered to the LDB Distribution Centres or BC Liquor Stores, the following payment terms apply:
- Wines, Spirits, Wine-Based Refreshment Beverages and Spirit-Based Refreshment Beverages: Net 30-day payment terms (payments made on the 15th and end of month)
- Beer and Malt-Based Refreshment Beverages: Net 15-day payment terms (payments made every Monday).These pay-out dates will only change when there is a weekend or statutory holiday. In that case, payment will be made on the next business day.
Note: New Payment Remittance Model for BC Manufacturer Direct Delivered sales are not included in the Payment terms.
