BURNABY, B.C. – The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) has been recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers by MediaCorp Canada for the 18th consecutive year. This distinction reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking workplace.
“Our people are at the heart of the LDB and our relationships with our customers and the communities we serve,” says Blain Lawson, General Manager and CEO of the LDB. “The passion and dedication that our people bring to their work have helped to build the workplace culture that has made the LDB a BC Top Employer for 18 straight years – and I look forward to seeing what we will continue to accomplish for the people of B.C. in the years ahead.”
The LDB is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB provides financial support for vital public services such as health care and education through the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and by operating the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores; it further gives back through the social impact and environmental initiatives under the Multiply the Good program. The LDB employs more than 5,000 people across British Columbia.
“Being a top employer reinforces the connection between a healthy workplace and the organization’s ability to deliver trusted, high-quality public services to British Columbians,” says Lawson. “This recognition for 2026 is both a celebration of what has been achieved and a reminder of our ongoing responsibility to invest in the people who make the organization’s success possible.”
