Masks Required in BC Liquor Stores & BC Cannabis Stores

Dr. Bonnie Henry, the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), announced that the mask mandate is being reinstated in all indoor public and retail spaces province wide, effective August 25, 2021. In line with this order, BC Liquor Store and BC Cannabis Store employees and customers are required to wear a face mask, regardless of vaccination status. Instore customer service support will be provided for people who cannot wear a mask due to health reasons or put on or remove a mask on their own.

The health and safety of our staff and their families, our customers and the communities in which we operate remains the LDB's most critical priority. We are committed to following the direction of the PHO as this situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve.

To that end, we have implemented a number of operational changes to our stores and workplaces to support and protect employees and customers, including the installation of protective shields at checkout areas, increased cleaning and sanitation of frequently used common surfaces, and availability of hand sanitizer in stores.

Signage will be posted in BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores to communicate the requirement by customers to wear a face mask while shopping in our stores.

The LDB is committed to making decisions with the goal of protecting the health and safety of the most vulnerable, our employees, our customers and the communities we serve, while following the direction of the PHO.
