BC Liquor Stores' Bordeaux release set for September 29

VANCOUVER – One of the year’s biggest events for wine lovers is happening September 29 when BC Liquor Stores hold their annual release of highly-prized Bordeaux wines.

“The 2015 vintage of Bordeaux in this year’s release is one of the best in years, thanks to an excellent growing season. Comparable to the top 2009 and 2010 vintages, it’s sure to be a heavy favourite for collectors,” said Barbara Philip MW, Category Manager, BC Liquor Stores.

BC Liquor Stores has more than doubled the number of outlets participating since last year, and will have 170 products available in 30 stores around the province (see complete listing below).

According to Philip, buyers from across Canada and around the world make an effort to visit BC for our annual Bordeaux release. The Liquor Distribution Branch – which operates BC Liquor Stores – enjoys allocations of top end product, thanks to its reputation of working only with trusted négociants and Chateaux.

“The selection we’re offering includes rare wines from one of the world’s most famous wine-producing regions, as well as affordable purchases that you can lay down or gift,” said Philip. Since many wines have limits on the number of bottles that can be purchased, she’s advising shoppers to arrive early in order to avoid disappointment.

Collectors and customers purchased nearly $3 million worth of Bordeaux wines in just two days during last year’s release. This year, keen buyers are expected to camp out overnight to be first in line at our flagship BC Liquor Store at 39th and Cambie in Vancouver to get first crack at these exclusive wines.

BC Liquor Stores will have up to date information on selection and inventory on its website, where you can also download the BCLS app.
